A small tinnie above the beach on Mele bay. When the tides are right and the Manguru are around, the boys from Mele will set their nets and hope for a big catch. Manguru is a small fish which can be eaten or is an excellent bait.

This year saw a record crowd turn out for a fantastic event, with the usual Fasions On The Field, packed race card, and lots of corporate boxes. A successful fishing trip in the second lagoon land a couple of juvenile Giant Trevally, later to be eaten for dinner. Young Sam was especially impressed with the catch and was definitely keen on the “Fillet and Release” program.
